It’s been two years since British soul singer Adele broke out with her Grammy-snatching debut 19 and now the world can breathe easy knowing its next chapter is ready for consumption.
21 – as it is aptly titled – is a catalogue of experiences colouring this next chapter in Adele‘s life.
“It’s different from 19, it’s about the same things but in a different light. I deal with things differently now. I’m more patient, more honest, more forgiving and more aware of my own flaws, habits and principles. Something that comes with age I think. So fittingly this record is called 21,” said Adele.
The bulk of the album was made in picturesque Malibu with legendary producer Rick Rubin (see CV: Johnny Cash and Red Hot Chilli Peppers) with several contributions from Paul Epworth (producer for Bloc Party and Florence) and there’s even one Ryan Tedderproduction on file, titled ‘Turning Tables’.
They haven’t confirmed the tracklisting as yet but the album’s first single ‘Rolling In The Deep’ – described by the singer as a “dark bluesy disco tune” – will be released on 16 January in the UK.
Adele has just uploaded the full studio version of ‘Rolling In The Deep’. Get excited, peeps! This sounds very promising.
21 will be out in the UK on 24 January and 22 February in the US. No Australian date has been issued as yet. Practically wetting myself in anticipation.
