2010 ARIA Awards Winners

It’s typically billed as Australian music’s night of nights but this year’s new format ARIAs sees the celebrations stretch out as a week-long affair.

Accolades for the genres categories were doled out every night from 1 – 5 November in the lead up to the bonanza award show event on Sunday.

Various ARIA favoured performers have graced the stage this week including Sia, Guy Sebastian, Washington, John Butler and Dan Sultan.

Here’s a rundown of the winners and nominees in the categories you wanna know about:

This is the first year the ARIAs are including “voter-powered” awards and the public still chose to award Powderfinger over our power pop purveyor, V Mama. Am I bovvered?

Le Twitter stream was abuzz with disparaging tweets about the award show’s refreshed format and presenter antics. Jessica “Debutt” Mauboy will have to live with this one for awhile.
