I see a few curious brow lifts coming my way.
Rome is a collaborative album bore from the loins of Danger Mouse (half of Gnarls Barkley) and Daniele Luppi (Italian composer), inspired by the lush Western scores of the 60s and 70s.
If that statement itself gave you a little post-coital tingle, wait til’ you hear a sample of the album here.
The Rome soundscape is building up to be something quite organic and altogether glorious, especially when you layer in vocalists like Norah Jones and Jack White. And while I’m aware that this style of music is not necessarily Feed Limmy‘s first pick for a snack, consider my appetite whet and plate politely extended forth for more.
Rome is due in 2011. Like the Facebook group for more updates as the project chugs along.
Danger Mouse‘s last collabo project Broken Bells (with James Mercer of The Shins) is practically high rotation fodder on our radio show, so I’ll be very keen to see what my co-host Jade Gulliver thinks of this.
