It was only a matter of time before Jessie Malakouti fought back for a piece of her own pop stardom and frankly, I didn’t see it coming under this oh-so-vogue guise of Jessie and The ToyBoys.
Much like Marina & The Diamonds, it really is just a one woman show marketed as an entity – except Jessie is supported by an entourage of hunky mannequins. [Editor’s note: someone could do with a friend.]
The blonde siren first fluttered into the pop blogosphere in 2008 when her filthy feverish track ‘Trash Me’ surfaced and had us bumping (the spectacular Heidi Montag eventually covered it). Plans to launch Jessie as a recording artist didn’t really fall into place until June last year when the concept of Jessie and The Toyboys came up and now, the world can finally prepare for some serious fabulosity.
Check out the ferosh new track ‘Push It’ – produced by Jimmy Harry (the man behind RuPaul‘s anthem ‘Supermodel’ and Empress Kylie‘s ‘Boombox’) and No Doubt‘s Tony Kanal (!!!):
“Touch myself. Think of you… make it fit! C’mon and push it.”
Feed Limmy verdict: Bounce snap.
Mighty snap = this is a hit.
Bounce snap = instantly likeable.
Lightbulb snap = you will need a moment to get into this.
Nonchalant snap = need I say more?
No snap = please cease and decease.
Expect to hear more from Jessie and The Toyboys in 2011.
