Taste Test: diSanto

Ladies, we can all make room for one more sweaty sex-on-808 Latin popstar, right?

Introducing for your taste testing pleasure: diSanto.

Back story: Puerto Rican-born singer diSanto hails from a musical theatre background (he’s done Rent and Footloose, shared the stage with Gloria Estefan, Melissa Etheridge, and U2) so you know his vocals are immaculate and completely capable of carrying strong pop melodies on its back.

Just like it was with another underground pop artist, Simon Curtis, sexy diSanto‘s breaking out to flaunt a more sinister, electro-laced pop sound.

Sounds like: a sweaty hybrid of Enrique and Simon Curtis spread out over a bed of synth-driven pop. Check out two highlights from his debut EP The Beginning:

‘Sinner’ – gays, we can all get into the cabaret-ish va-va voom factor here, even if the video captures a little too much breeder action for our liking.

‘Get Away’ – a slick pop/R&B mid tempo that could’ve easily leaked from the production suites of Jim Jonsin or even, Timbaland circa Nelly Furtado‘s Loose.

Footnotes:
