The infallible chanteuse of heartbreak choons – Adele – pulled a show stopper at this year’s Brit Awards and show host James Corden sounded like he needed a hug.
‘Someone Like You’ is the second single drafted from Adele‘s massive sophomore record 21, which has topped the charts in 17 countries.
It’s a grand and poignant way to open the awards, I guess. No pyro, no booty poppin’ dancers and threat of a wardrobe malfunction. You’d think that somebody had wanted to convey that it’s all about the music or something.
Watch the performance and as James had put it, “if you’ve ever had a broken heart… you’re about to remember it now”:
While Adele and this song in general can do no wrong in my eyes, I personally preferred the more intimate rendition she did on Later Live with Jools Holland.
‘Someone Like You’ was co-written with Grammy-winning songwriter Dan Wilson, who co-penned Dixie Chicks‘ ‘Not Ready To Make Nice’.
Adele is set to kick off her 21 world tour next month, playing dates in Europe, North America and the UK.
Again. Sorry Australia, you gets none.
