Look at the Queen Mother getting her edgy editorial realness on.
Beyonce is definitely in full swing promo mode now with the album set to drop in a few weeks. Here she is on the cover of Dazed & Confused‘s July summer music issue. The high fashion photo shoot theme here is “trailer park fantasy” with Queen B rocking bespoke creations by Tom Ford, Riccardo Tisci, Gareth Pugh, Haider Ackerman, Stefano Pilati and Marc Jacobs.

4 leaked sometime last week and it’s definitely divided the fan base with an outcry from those in favour of more Sasha Fierce radio-ready smashes. For me, I feel like people just don’t know how to react to this album. 4 transcends the pop realms that her first three albums reigned hard in. To understand and appreciate it, we need to approach it as a soul record and just focus on the music and raw vocal performance she’s delivering. If you’re simply skipping through looking for the next ‘Single Ladies’, child, you’re going about it all wrong and I feel for you. Put aside any KPIs surrounding radio airplays, first-week sales and Top 40 visibility – this is not a mainstream pop record.

Despite rumours circulating that Columbia’s pushing back her album or making her re-record the bulk of it, it’s business as usual as far as we know. Beyonce‘s 4 is still coming out as scheduled in both standard and deluxe editions on 24 June in Australia and 28 June in the US.
