Shania Twain ‘Today Is Your Day’ Single Details

She is back y’all, for real. Oprah Winfrey network program, for real for real.

Shania Twain has been deep in our thoughts and prayers ever since news broke of her marriage breakdown and subsequent battle with depression and damaged self-esteem. The defining glamazon of 90s country/pop is back in her fighting best after launching a reality series – Why Not? with Shania Twain – on Oprah’s OWN network. She announced that she has gotten her confidence back to sing and a fifth studio album is on the way for this year.

Today is a monumental day in Shania discography as she is releasing her first single in over six years: ‘Today Is Your Day’. Yes, it sounds like the title of one of them motivational calendars where you have an inspirational quote for the day and shit, but please, treat ‘Today Is Your Day’ with all the love and kindness you can muster.

Think of it as the grown woman’s feel good song as done by Colbie Caillat. It’s like ‘Up!’ without the caffeine kick and youthful, bubbly optimism. Shania wrote and co-produced the comeback single with Nathan Chapman (the man behind several Taylor Swift records). Ms Twain has sold over 75 million albums worldwide and remains as one of the top-selling female artists in country music history. This comeback album better work for it.

Next up for Shania is the recently announced two-year residency in Vegas, where she will perform in Caesar’s Palace. Cher has been reigning on stage there for the last two years and it seems like a stable, decent gig for these bankable memaws. Shania will be reunited with old diva pal Celine, who is pretty much a part of the furniture at Caesar’s Palace now.

Shania‘s comeback single ‘Today Is Your Day’ is now out on iTunes worldwide. Grab it here. Her Vegas gig titled Still The One kicks off on 1 December.
